Excellent music in a genre where bad music is easy and good music very hard
author: Forrest Cahoon
Octiv8 has succeeded in making extended electronic pieces which maintain a persistent mellow groove yet remain intellectually captivating throughout. He does this by weaving different voices in and out of the groove with an uncanny sense of timing -- each voice repeats just enough to be fully appreciated, but never long enough to become annoying. My only minor nit to pick is that the CD comes in a simple (artistically decorated) cardboard sleeve instead of a jewel case. It certainly suffices to protect the CD, and unlike a jewel case won't break when dropped, but those of us with collections like having a case thick enough to have recognizable writing on the spine. But don't let that stop you from buying this excellent CD. Total time: 54:06

Great refreshing ambient grooves

A nice disc to relax and chill to, but not in a sleepy kind of way. With a positive vibe throughout, it's hard not to be in a great mood while listening. Production skills and sequencing are quite good and the grooves are solid, but never over done. Don't let the bargain price throw you. This one's worth every cent.
